No need to.

Simply set ( ~/.subversion/servers ):
neon-debug-mask = 511

and that will provide copious logging (when running Neon-based command-line subversion).

I'm not sure about the specific error message but if I'm not completely mistaken I once had the same error, and it was something slightly different but ending up with a "doh!".

You could revisit your SvnBridge .config files, possibly the problem is caused by an insufficiently correct entry there.

Of course most likely you get that error because SvnBridge had an implementation exception which it then tries to log and that then fails.

Or simply build a lava-fixed (you cannot even call it hotfixed...) SvnBridge version and quite likely watch that particular error issue causing a log file error issue to go poof (but that still won't save you from yet another log file error when having another error).

Or run desktop SvnBridge and do a debugger session on it to determine error causes.
When we do a Maven Release, one of the commands does an 'svn copy' to create the "tags" branch in TFS.

From a Windows Server running SlikSVN 1.6.9 it works. Running on Linux (Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS or Ubuntu 12.10) running subversion 1.6.6, 1.6.12, 1.6.17 or 1.7.x, I get a HTTP/1.1 401 unauthorized.

When I took a capture using tcpdump and analyzed the trace, I am seeing this returned:

   Access to the path 'D:\Logs\SVNBridge\Error-1b1923a3-6b94-4e61-be16-5af0c0dc2465.log' is denied.

The sysadmins say they have the correct permissions on the Logs folder. What else can I look at?
I will have a look at the details of the backtrace soonish, though.
In the meantime, real, actual software professionals might want to reconsider their decision of making use of any of the many relatively non-robust (and in addition often not approachable due to closed source, and/or with insufficient interface docs, or service!) products of a certain entity that's been stabbing software industry for decades and now even ends up unbeliebably whiiny when things suddenly turn against them: http://mobile.slashdot.org/story/13/01/03/0358238/microsoft-says-google-trying-to-undermine-windows-phone (also, this important-functionality bug will celebrate 3rd biirthday soon)

Hi guys,

we've got the SvnBridge server running on Windows Server 2008 R2 running. After a couple of configuration tests it runs now passing the user authentificated on client through web application to tfs.

The application pool for SvnBridge is configured to an existing domain account in setting Idenitity. For my understanding this user will be used to grant access to TFS. Am I right?

If so, what kind of rights level do this user needs on tfs?

Thanks in advanced.

Correct:

<add key="TfsUrl" value="http://tfs12:8080/tfs/"/>

What I found out was in SvnBridge\SvnBridgeLibrary\Infrastructure\MetaDataRepositoryNoCache.cs line 73 the code is doing a contains on the path "/tfs/" and since my url was only "/tfs" it was not matching and was thus calling the asmx service and not the
ashx handler which TFS 2010 and TFS 2012 is expected.

var downloadUrlExtension = serverUrl.Contains("/tfs/") ? "ashx" : "asmx";

Hope this helps someone else in the future.

Thanks for the perfectly detailed report!

I'll be fixing this as well in my (currently local) current patchset (detect TFS URL type by accepting both contains "/tfs/" or ends with "/tfs" - internet search for "TfsUrl http" actually has many hits for the latter style, thus it's a rather gross bug!).

I'll check whether some possible code duplication does incorrect checks, too.

asmx service and not the ashx handler which TFS 2010 and TFS 2012 is expected.

var downloadUrlExtension = serverUrl.Contains("/tfs/") ? "ashx" : "asmx";

Hope this helps someone else in the future.

Looking forward to having your fix hopefully working and uploaded soon! Anyway, a lot of people behind me are waiting for this issue to go away, so may the force be with you! :)

New Post: "Depth not supported" error in log

All I can say is:

likely coincidentally (happened to stumble upon this requirement) fixed in my updated patchset:

commit 82168c438c6493921f03e1e8a3c4fd5a165b0033
Date:   Fri Oct 5 16:25:32 2012 +0200

    PROPFIND: should assume "Depth: infinity" as default when unspecified.

Haven't posted an update of my patchset tracker yet (want to do some more local testing).

New Post: "Depth not supported" error in log

Hi All,

I have an SVN bridge at IIS referring to my TFS repo. For about a week it worked perfectly but suddenly stopped (looks like after a certain commit) and writes an error in the its log under iis (See below). Is there any way to understand and fix the
root cause? or a workaround? thanks.

I have one question. You say that you rebuilt the source "as of today." Are there mods in that source that are required to make VS2012 work, or would this also work with the downloadable version?
